What is a lateral flow antigen test?

The Lateral Flow Antigen Test is derived from the Lateral Flow method. This is a particular technique to see if someone is infected with Covid-19. With this test, you can receive the results within 30 minutes.

This test is used for travel, for example. With us, you get a validated travel certificate with the Lateral Flow Antigen Test. Please note that the measures vary from country to country. On our coronatest for travel page states more information.

How does the lateral flow antigen test work?

Using a cotton swab, a swab is performed in both nostrils. The nasal mucus is mixed in a test tube with a liquid that detects whether proteins from the coronavirus are present.

This test can be used when you experience symptoms of the virus, as well as without symptoms.

Because nasal mucus can be mixed immediately with a certain liquid in a test tube, you can quickly see if someone is infected with COVID-19. You will receive the result of a Lateral Flow Antigen Test approximately within 30 minutes.

What is the difference between the lateral flow antigen test and antigen rapid test?

Between the lateral flow antigen test and the rapid antigen test is no difference. Both tests are rapid tests. This type of testing detects whether proteins or antigens are present in the body when someone is infected with coronavirus.
