How does the lateral flow antigen test work?
Using a cotton swab, a swab is performed in both nostrils. The nasal mucus is mixed in a test tube with a liquid that detects whether proteins from the coronavirus are present.
This test can be used when you experience symptoms of the virus, as well as without symptoms.
